Counter Surveillance Techniques cteckpc.com

Counter surveillance techniques for the amateur and low budget, and how to use counter surveillance for your home or office.

You just might be bugged. With today's technology there is no limit to what a covert operation can do.

There are a few steps you can take without having to buy a bunch of equipment to determine if indeed you are under surveillance. If you do have a great deal of money, you can buy bug detection equipment from OPTOELECTRONICS, or pay someone to visit your home and use their equipment to find any spy equipment.

One of the easiest is ways to find bugs is to take the wall plates off and look behind them for electronic spy equipment. A radio transmitter can be placed inside one of these locations, and use the power from your wall sockets to power itself.

Another way is to turn all of your lights and take a flashlight and flash it parallel with the wall looking for small holes. It is best to do this when it is dark out so any abrasions will show up. By doing this you are looking for miniature cameras or microphones. Just take some toothpaste or wall putty and put it in the hole. Camera lenses that people use these days can be very small, and powerful. Digital cameras are the best for reproduction because the pictures can be manipulated with a computer.

If you are worried about your phone being bugged, you can call the phone company and ask them to check the lines for you. It is probably wise to do this from a different phone than the one you want to have them check. The phone company will not tell you if you have a lawful bug on your line. That is they won't tell you if they have been served with a court order telling them to bug your phone. You will have to go to the court house and search their records to find this out. You can also remove the cover of the microphone and see if there is any extra items that don't belong. There are many types of electronic transmitters that can be made to tap into your phone, so you might want to contact a specialist to see if you have a bug installed on on yours.

If you are using a Cell Phone or a Radio Phone, your conversations are free to be overheard by anyone with a proper receiver. Cell phone reception capable receivers have been outlawed except for use by government officials. Cell phone transmission interception is illegal. However, if you are on a portable radio phone, your conversation can be tuned in to by any person. The laws for recording a conversation vary from state to state. In Oregon it is against the law to record a conversation without at least on of the parties knowing about it.

If you are on a cell phone, your privacy rights are still questionable, but not negated. If you are on your land line, the only way that a conversation can be recorded and used against you is if their has been a wire tap ordered by a judge. Recent changes in the laws allow FBI agents to tap any and all phones used by an individual rather then just one phone, so if they have a signed order, to tap one of your phones, they have the privilege of tapping any phone you use, including pay phones.

In order to help avoid outside sources from listening in on your conversations, you can pipe rock music around your windows to create vibrations that scramble any signals from laser detection. Laser detectors bounce lasers off of the outside of your windows or a prism built into your window and send it back to a receiver that then recreates the sounds inside.

If you don't want any one to be able to see into your house with infrared, it might be possible for you to cover your presence while your inside your home using Black Lights. You have to set up the Black Lights near your windows to create an interference with infrared sensors and help block infrared from seeing inside.
